Urban Church Planter
Oasis Dufferin Community Centre
is a Christian not-for-profit faith community and reflects that all

overcome through relationship, and seeks to create community for
clients by demonstrating God’s love and caring in such a way as to
help them reach their fullest potential.
Oasis Dufferin Community Centre provides emergency services and skills
training to over 1,000 families monthly, in the West Downtown Toronto
area. Oasis is in the process of planting an English-speaking
inter-cultural church in this diverse, broken neighbourhood and is
looking to hire a full-time Church Planter. The successful
candidate will have a calling to urban multi-ethnic ministry. He or
she has the proven ability to communicate the gospel in sensitive and
innovative ways, to lead a church planting endeavor and to mobilize
others into effective evangelism. Bible training and previous small
group leadership is essential. Additional languages will be an asset.
Job Description
The Church Planter, with a humble, servant’s heart, shall work
exclusively to evangelize and minister to volunteers, clients
and members of the Oasis community, as well as the Dufferin Hallam
Neighbourhood.
Relationships
To achieve this purpose, the planter as an outreach coordinator will
develop relationships with Oasis staff, volunteers, clients, local
evangelical churches, in the Oasis community.
Responsibilities
The Church Planter will:

Attend and assist in some Oasis programs, in agreement with the
Executive Director, with the purpose of meeting and interacting with
volunteers, clients and members of the Oasis community.

Visit Oasis contacts and community with the ultimate goal of
evangelization.

Through dialogue with the Executive Director, design, lead and
facilitate evangelization events and programs for the Dufferin/Hallam
community
·
Liaise and coordinate with the outreach programs of local evangelical
churches. Attend Board and committee meetings, fundraising initiatives
and other duties shall not take up more than 10 percent of the Church
Planter/Outreach Coordinator’s time.

Details and Remuneration
Full time: (flexible schedule: some days, evenings and weekends)
Salary is dependent upon qualifications & experience and includes

Accountability
The Outreach Coordinator’s beliefs, statements and lifestyle shall be
consistent with the Oasis statement of faith, the BCOQ Lifestyle
Policy.
The Outreach Coordinator shall report to the Executive Director and
shall fulfill the other accountability requirements set out in his or
her contract with Oasis.
