The first ever Oasis Multicultural Festival took place September 17th, and saw over 300 participants and guests take in the ambiance and experience the cultures of our city.  With food, displays and dances from over 20 different countries and geographical areas a real sense of just how much diversity is present in the bustling west Toronto community was achieved.

What better way to enjoy a meal than to sit and delight in typical music and dance from diverse countries.  To put into words the emotion and nostalgia stirred up by a floor pounding and heart moving dance is difficult to say the least, but the crowd on hand felt the warmth and enthusiasm displayed by all dancers.

Through events such as the Multicultural Festival, Oasis strives to meet its mandate:

“Reflecting that all peoples are made in God’s image, recognizing their value and dignity in a multicultural society and city, understanding that prejudice is only overcome through relationship, Oasis seeks to create community for all by demonstrating God’s love and care in such ways as to help them attain their fullest potential.”
